
Another Sondheim show to receive John Doyle's actor-musician treatment was Company. The revival began previews Oct. 29, 2006, and opened on Nov. 29 and closed on July 1, 2007. It began at the Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park in spring 2006, and transferred to Broadway when producers of
Doyle's Sweeney Todd revival took interest. This revival of Company ran for 34 previews and 247 regular performances at the Ethel Barrymore theatre. It won the Tony award as well as the Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle and Drama League Awards for Best Revival of a Musical.
The cast included Raul Esparza as Bobby Barbara Walsh as Joanne; Keith Buterbaugh as Harry; Matt Castle as Peter; Robert Cunningham as Paul; Angel Desai as Marta; Kelly Jeanne Grant as Kathy; Kristin Huffman as Sarah; Amy Justman as Susan; Heather Laws as Amy; Leenya Rideout as Jenny; Fred Rose as David; Bruce Sabath as Larry; and Elizabeth Stanley as April. Produced by Richard Frankel productions. Directed and Choreographed by John Doyle. Mary-Mitchell Campbell served as the production's music supervisor and orchestrator.David Gallo (set designer), Ann Hould-Ward (costume designer) and Thomas C. Hase (lighting designer).
